When Nancy's father died fighting in the war, and her Mother killed herself shortly after, she didn't have many options. She could either love with her great-aunt Aggie, or... nothing, really. So went to stay with Aggie, and practically lived with the Greens. She stayed there most nights, but visited her grandmother often.
Of course only her best friend Megsie knows of her secret crush on Norman, but with the threat of a war looming over them, will the two confess?

How We Met
As I see my mom walk out the door I look at my dad smiling at me. The way he smiled at me made realize how afraid he was. I glance at him and give him a fake smile before he comes up to me and gives me a hug. The warmth of his body was reassuring but I feel the tears start to come down his face.
