"I don't like you like that. That's it. We are not meant to be! It was just stupid mistake that the universe made."
In a world where marking's that are made on your skin appear on your soulmate's as well, it's hard to accept the fact that you might not have a soulmate. Except for the fact that Bailey didn't believe he had a soulmate. Whether it be because he believed her to be dead or just none existent. He just didn't have one. And he knew that, as much as it hurt. He knew the perfect girl didn't exist

"You and I are soulmates. Please, just believe me. I've seen every single drawing you make on your skin because it appears on mine too. And I love them. For god's sake, I love you!"
Simon knew he had a soulmate. But he also knew they would never be together. For one simple reason. Simon was deathly allergic to any form or ink, paint, etc. So it's not like he could ever write back.

"I just want you to know that I'll always love you. Even if you don't feel the same."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. You never know. Things can always change."

[ A VERY Slow-Burn, LGBT+ Soulmates Romance ] Dylan Matthews never wants to meet his Soulmate. So, when the inevitable finally happens, he expects to continue his life of obscurity, alone. Instead, he gets an awkward waltz of self-reflection, resistance, and lots of sarcasm. And hugs. ~ In a world with Soulmates, Dylan Matthews does not share the rose-coloured glasses everyone else does; he never wants to meet his Soulmate. Mercilessly mocked for his Glow anyway, he's content with his life of pushing people away, wishing he could be a writer, and keeping his head low at his job as a website coder. The problem: he doesn't get to decide if they meet or not, so it becomes a matter of waiting so he can outright reject them. One work trip and a blackout later, Dylan cannot escape his Soulmate no matter how far he runs; he works with them. He's ready to push them away, but can't. Something inside him, along with the dreaded Glow Feeling, wants to see this crash and burn on its own. Yet mistake after mistake, Dylan finds himself in an awkward waltz with someone just as broken as he is. Will Dylan push his Soulmate away, or will the New Soulmates heal their pasts? ~ "The Soulmate System" is the set of 31 combined rules, sub-rules, and overarching themes that determine who, how you will find, and live with, your Soulmate, starting with a simple coloured Glow from your chest... ~ All rights reserved. 5 years ago, I lost my best friend. All because he confessed his feelings for me and I over thought things. I was left on my own only to realize too late that the feelings were mutual. Now, I vow to love the next guy wholeheartedly, with no reservations, no regrets. I only live once. Let's not make things complicated. When I love, I love period. - Mew Bennett I have never been in love. Sure I've been with girls but I never felt the need to take care of anyone. To be responsible with another person's feelings is just so big a burden, I'd rather not experience it. I'm all for self-preservation, to be secured in who I am without having to worry about hurting someone else. Let's not make things complicated. I don't intend to fall in love period. -Gulf McQueen
