"Erin, check out that guy over there!" He said pointing at his direction, and hoping that she would see it, even though they weren't that close to the building.
"Oh, mother may I?!" She said once her eyes finally caught him.
He sighed in frustration. And he was the pervert. "Not for this!" He pointed at the drawing. "This! He looks like our guy. A lot!"
Her eyes went wide at that. "Fuck! You're right!"
"So I guess we're finally getting some action." He told her, securing the gun strapped to his belt. "Are you ready, Catwoman?"
She took a deep breath, and then released it. Shit was about to go down. "As ready as I will ever be, Robin."
His mouth fell open. "Robin? Really?"
"Sorry, you're not really Batman material."
Erin shrugged, and then laughed - a little too unapologetically for his liking. Sam decided to ignore her comment for a while. They had much important things to do. Finally an opportunity had presented itself, and he was going to make damn sure the Captain was proud of them.
"NYC, rest assured. Officer Davis is coming to the rescue!"

More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote.
