Book 2 of the Descendant of Merlin series.

Summer before seventh year is well underway, and Isabella is learning there is much more to the potions master than she realized. When school resumes, how will she juggle her new responsibilities along with her true desires? With the ups and downs that come with loving Severus Snape and new revelations about her family and childhood, there is only one thing Isabella knows; she must be true to herself.

Severus is beginning to see Isabella in a different light. There's something-darker about her that he had never noticed. For both of their future safety, he must make every effort to push her away, but has he finally met the one person patient and persistent enough to soften his will? After all these years of pain and solitude, there's only one thing the war veteran knows; he must stay true to his mission.

Can their passion unite them, or will their ambitions tear them apart? Either way, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Emma Moore, professor in Healing at Hogwarts, has to suppress her feelings for her old best friend and now colleague Severus Snape, who she hasn't seen in ten years, while figuring out who killed her aunt. --------------------------------------------- Emma Moore had a good life, objectively speaking. She worked her dream-job as a Healer at St Mungo's Hospital, and had a boyfriend, Jordan, who loved her and worked at the hospital with her. But somehow, she was still not happy. She still missed the people she left behind ten years earlier. One person, in particular. But when Jordan cheats on her with another colleague, someone she considered a friend, Emma finds herself gathering her things and leaving her whole life behind her. In a spur of the moment decision, she applies for a job at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To her great delight, she's hired as a professor in Healing. Arriving at the school, she finds out that her old best friend, Severus Snape, also works there; the boy she was hopelessly in love with during the seven years they went to school together, the man she could never really get over in the ten years since she'd last seen him. Now too late to terminate her new job, she has to make the best of it. And then her aunt gets killed while on one of her auror missions and all the evidence seems to point to Severus. How well does she still know the boy she used to know like the back of her hand? How much can she still trust him? This story is set during Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts.

Harry Potter finally understands why his potions professor, Severus Snape, seems to pretty much hate the ground he walks on, after Harry inadvertently gets into his Pensieve during an Occlumency lesson. Despite his attempts at apologizing, the older man doesn't seem to want to hear it. As time goes by, however, and their lessons are forced to resume again, Harry comes to terms with his attraction towards the older man, and Severus, although reluctant to do so, gives in to kissing the young man, and a relationship blooms between them. When times are shaken up because of various Death Eaters threatening to destroy life as they know it, both men are thrust into the center of it all, especially when Sirius Black, now Harry's guardian, catches wind of the relationship and puts an end to it by force. Will their love be strong enough to handle the war, their separation, and will it prove to be the power the Dark Lord knows not?
