My phone buzzed on the leather passenger seat of my Ford Focus. Being extremely cautious, I quickly took my eyes off of the road and reached over to check the text. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quick enough, because another car that had come from the intersection came rushing toward my car. I had no time to swerve. Deafening honks and screams filled my ears as the car crashed at my side. Windows exploded, my world spun and spun, until it finally stopped to one color: Black.

Mi just ask fi yuh talk to mi! Is it really too much fi ask fi a bit of communication?" The tension snapped like a rubber band. "Betta mi jump outta dis car," I said, my hand darting for the door handle. In an instant, he locked the doors as he slammed on the brakes. The sudden stop jerked me forward, the seatbelt the only thing keeping me from hitting the dashboard. "Nuh mek mi affi do something mi will regret Kim" he mumbled, shaking his head his laugh low and unamused. "Do it! if yuh think yuh bad!" I shot back meeting his gaze without flinching. He turned his head sharply toward me, his eyes narrowing. Before I could even register what was happening, he leaned forward.......
