Mature
Katherine Everett is a normal 17 year old girl with a secret. She thinks her life has no meaning. She has a desire to fall asleep and never wake up, a condition called "Maladaptive Day-dreaming".

In her head she enters a new life, a better one. She becomes emotionally attached to her dreams and craves to be able to stay there forever. She wants it to be real.
One day Katherine saw something she wasn't supposed to see. This leads to her getting kidnapped from her own backyard, a towel with chloroform placed over her mouth to make her pass out, and being caged like a dog.
She's accompanied by an obnoxious boy, and 2 little girls who have been there for months. Could it get worse? Yes.
She and the others are tortured and beaten if they don't cooperate with their kidnappers' plan.

Will they be able to escape? Will love overcome evil? This is a coming of age story where a girl helps others in need and learns there is a meaning to life, and a good one. (Strong language/ intense detailed scenes.. please don't read if that bothers you!)

60 parts Complete Mature

It's been five years since that fateful Friday night. I remember it like it was yesterday. Now look at me. If you'd told me five years ago that I'd be kidnapped and fall in love with my kidnapper, I would have laughed and said, "Don't be ridiculous." He's given me this journal and allowed me to write my story. He thinks I won't publish it. But I hope to, one day. I need to tell my story. Putting pen to paper will help me unburden myself. The trauma I've kept hidden all these years is too much to bear alone. - Dark Romance, Psychological Thriller, Contemporary Fiction. Mature themes throughout. Not suitable for children. 18+ Reader discretion is advised. -
