Hide your skull and grab a shock-blanket, because the newfound quiet(er) than usual life of John and Sherlock Watson-Holmes is about to be thrown into jeopardy. And this time, the cryptic ‘Twist’ is the least of their problems…
Just after the mark of having lived together for a year as a couple, they are disturbed by news of a mysterious attack- one that will allow time for the first of a string of kidnappings to take place, putting the lives of everyone they hold dear in danger. It will take the remains of their broken family and a couple of old friends to join the duo in cracking the codes and wading through a sea of blackmail in order to reach the final stage of the game.
But this time, the villain who would do anything to win the game knows precisely what to do. Setting up a twisted web of lies and breadcrumbs, everything they thought they knew will be pushed out of balance by the King of Crime.
But is it all a bluff? Or a double bluff? Or a triple bluff?

He was looking at Sherlock Holmes. Yet not the one he would have expected. Distinctive changeable eyes, lined by a row of long dense lashes, showed an expression of a wild animal standing in the glare of approaching headlights. Of a man driven into a corner. Simply expressed, an expression of pure horror, something you don't see on a famous consulting detective most of the time. John opened his mouth, but after a realisation that he has no idea of what he wanted to say, he closed it again. He wasn't welcomed by a mutilated, smashed face. The severed spine could be ruled out straight away, and he seemed to have all his limbs as well. He felt an endless relief when he saw solid, uninjured skin where the blood flowed the last time. Nevertheless, the scene he was offered tugged the carpet under his feet and he had to admit (if a bit grudgingly) that Mycroft was right-he did not exaggerate when warning him it might be a shock. Trigger warnings: This story contains references to violence and its description, and also deals with self-esteem issues and body image. Meanwhile, Sherlock Holmes is trying to debunk the Scotland Yard's incorrect description of what is actually a group of mass-murders revolving around a small memory-wiping pill. Mr. Holmes needs an assistant, and Mr. Watson needs a companion. Little do either of them know how much they specifically need one another. [I wrote this when I was early in my teenage years.
