They live amongst humans and hunt to feed and a group of humans known as investigators are train to kill ghouls and protect humanity from this growing threat. Y/N is different from most ghouls due to him being a half-breed meaning he can eat human food but he still needs to feed on human flesh once and a while. Y/N also strictly kills criminals and feeds on their flesh but he is also feared in the ghoul world since he also kills other ghouls who cross his path. Y/N lives a double life as a CCG investigator and a wanted ghoul and he is determined to create a world where ghouls and humans can co-exist.
