Penelope Bryan was a girl who stuck to herself. With her own issues to deal with she never had time to worry about her love life. At the young age of twenty-two, she works day and night at her not-so-local diner to support herself and her small family. The only thing keeping her sane was the casual conversation she would have with her customers, that is..until a tall, dark, and handsome man in green catches her eye.

Finn Sinclair was known as the 'nice guy' in high school, leaving the girls to run after the bad boys. This didn't bother him though due to his dedication to ROTC. Without a clue of what to do in his life he did the one thing that felt right, enlisting in the United States Army. Soon it was time for him to head to Basic Training at the age of twenty four. Making a small stop in Tennessee before leaving for the east coast, he stops at a small diner.
What will happen when the two cross paths. Will they beat the odds or be just another statistic?
