Lydia Rose and Kol Mikaelson was the type you don't describe as love at first sight. They formed a special friendship, where a love had been built. And it was more of an epiphany when they had realized their feelings for each other. They had gone through the stages of denial through acceptance. And realized at the end that they were a goner.

But of course there are still some obstacles lovers have to face together, and although there are times when it's just so easy to just give up, Lydia and Kol doesn't.
