Eighteen-year-old Nathan Payne has a pretty great life, his days mostly consisting of playing Halo with his best friend Matt Jones and thinking about college. All that changes when the girl named California (Cassie) Brooks walks into his life, leaving him feeling a sense of attachment he'd never felt before. But then Cassie gets into a car accident, and his world is turned upside down. Nathan must accept the changes, and maybe learn some lessons along the way of life and love from the girl of his dreams.
