Ariana almost lost everything she ever knew to the lusus naturae when they raided her little village. With the hope to save her sister she sets out to kill the evil that took her family and friends from her. She soon finds the nest that the horde came from and realizes she can't take them all on her own. With no one to help she decides to plead to the king of the land to send his army to rid the world of these creatures. But when the king refuses to listen, her only hope is a commander of the third unit in the king's army. This cold and distant man is the only one willing to listen to her but he cannot disobey his king. If Ariana fails the whole kingdom could fall just like her village.
