No one had ever seen that day coming from someone so ordinary. Emyra is a girl who enjoys books and dreams, a girl who thinks everything is beautiful. No one seems to think she is, though. Her colouring is different and she is feared and hated by some, but eventually, she finds what she has looked for: a friend.
No god gives what he can’t take away, though. When her friend leaves her, Emyra is devastated. She goes after him, on through a world she only ever saw in books, with evil getting stronger and boiling rage about to explode.
When Emyra does not find her first and only real friend, she sees her road. It does no lead to meadows and dragons, and dreams and honey, nor past libraries and stories. It is the road so many men have taken. It is the road of mankind and its weakness.
