UNIVERSE ALTERATION
In this universe, you can find your soulmate by a specific matching mark. When you turn 16 (or as late as 21) the mark becomes visible on a certain part of your body.
It can be on your wrist, your back, chest, ankle, wherever- your soulmate has the same mark at the same part of their body.
This year for Lucia Lauder is when she turns 16, and she is not eager to find out who her soulmate is. With problems at home with her mostly absent mother and her rough father ON TOP of high tensions with the Socs- Lucia does not need any more problems regarding something as silly as love.
Dallas Winston is reckless and closed off. He swears he doesn't care that he doesn't have "The Mark" yet, but everyone in the gang really knows he wants something real.
When most people their age -including some from the gang- start finding their marks and ending up with their soulmates, it is just enough to push them both to the edge.
Dally just can't stop thinking about it and Lucia wants nothing to do with it... what happens when they find out eachother's truths?

Until you find your soulmate the world is in black and white until you meet your soulmate. When you turn 18 a tattoo of your soulmate's first word to you appears on your arm.
