Zim is called back to the massive to be "fixed" by the Tallest, since Earth has finally been prioritized by the Irken armada. Once he's returned to Earth, the Tallest wipe his memory of their meeting, since Zim has decided against destroying Earth. Because he can't remember going back to the massive, Zim can't explain what's going on when he starts going mad periodically. It isn't until Dib gets seriously hurt that Zim decides to fix the problem.

As well, this book is a work of fiction-within-fiction, meaning that it is NOT canon to the show. It takes place after the events of Mopiness of Doom (an unaired episode, which you can watch on youtube in the form of either an animation project or an official script reading, neither of which are mine.) and doesn't fully follow the canonicity of future (unaired) episodes. Invader zim fan fic (my oc Zar)
Zar thinks that the Irken empire should try and make peace with other aliens instead of having a target on their back, but the tallest think otherwise, and so does every Irken on the ship. Despite this, she ends up making friends with two other Irkens, Beio and Jackie. Before meeting Zim she had already been to Earth, but something happens and she ends up going back to the empire. 30 years later after that incident is where we are now. The tallest soon call her to give her a "mission" and she soon releases that what her friends tell her are indeed true. (It turned out bad 💀. This is a rough draft of what I want to do for a comic one day. I might end up remaking the whole thing if it actually ever gets popular enough, which I doubt lol.
