"When pain struck, I took it like an honor"

Amber Wolf wasn't meant to be here in the first place. Living with her sister in a house in middle of the woods should've been the only thing she should be worried about. She was wrong about it all.

Everything from the day she sat on that bus had been strange, from the necklace her mother gave to the weird writings in her sisters book, it would all make sense in the end. For the worst.
                                                                          __________________________

"She was infected, she could have killed the girls with the virus she had in her" The masked man said, as he went out of the house, slamming the door behind him.

I saw my mom leaning against the chair with no movement. I looked at this scene shocked, wanting to go and kill that man by shooting him with my gun, but I knew I could do nothing. I stood there watching, and feeling helpless and not knowing what to do.

I looked outside and saw that the bus had already left, with my younger self in it. Then I saw the masked man with two other people and he was talking to them about something, I went closer and eavesdropped. What I heard was beyond my imagination."

"This is the hall bathroom," I motioned as we passed, "and this is the bedroom." "Bedroom?" Cadence clarified. "Just one? But you said I'd be staying here." I turned to see her blushing again, and had the urge to place my hand on her cheek to see if it was as warm as it looked. I didn't. "I still have to make sure you don't try anything," I explained. "You'll be staying in here. Don't worry-- it's a king sized bed." "And," Cadence began, looking anywhere but me as she took in the room, "what else does making sure I don't try anything entail?" I couldn't tell if she was trying to provoke me or not, but either way, I had made up my mind the second I determined she would stay with me exactly how keeping her here would go. "Well for starters," I told her seriously, "I'm going to need you to strip." --- Cadence Maurice wanted nothing more in the world than to have the engagement trip of her life with her fiancé, Isaiah in the beautiful city of Moscow. But all too quickly, everything was taken from her. Isaiah was shot by a man in a mask, and she was kidnapped to a desolate mansion to be interrogated about him. She thought she knew everything about her husband to-be, but the more she's questioned, the more she begins to think that maybe her sweet fiancé was the bad guy. Only, as Cadence quickly discovers, in this story, there is no good guy. Adler Ulrich, assassin by trade, and prized hitman for the dangerous Fedorov Family, thought he'd seen it all. But when he is sent to kill an enemy of the Family and finds his target using an innocent young women as a shield, he's not sure he has. When he brings the woman in for questioning instead of killing her alongside her lying fiancé, he becomes unsure of whether he's saving the blonde-haired beauty, or dooming her to a fate worse than death. My mum always used to tell me what it's like to see your mate for the first time. She used to say that at that moment, everything around you stopped, that nothing else mattered. And nothing else would matter. If it wasn't for the little girl clinging to my leg right now. That little girl that trusts me with her life, that beautiful little girl that made me hold on and not give up on life. That little girl, whose father is standing in front of me right now. He's my mate. The edges of his lips curve and he looks up and down as if checking me out. "Long time no see." Are the words that first come out of his mouth that break the silence. ~~~~~~~~~~ Lexie is an Alpha's daughter. She faces a hard few days and thinks a night at the club will help her get through this. A few drinks won't hurt, right? At least that's what she thinks. Yet that night will change everything sooner than she would ever imagine. When the next day, her pack gets attacked, everything is chaos. Her mother and father are killed and her world shatters. She's forced to run away and leave everyone that she still has left behind. She thinks she has no one... that's until she finds out about another heartbeat in her body. Raising a baby on your own is hard enough. After a few years she finally meets her mate though and it turns out she knows him after all. How will she confess that her mate is actually her daughter's father? What will happen now? We don't live in a fairy tale where every story has a happy ending though. Real world isn't that easy...if you can call a world full of mystical creatures very real.

Hi all, I have decided to discontinue this book, so it is not finished. (Read at your own risk) I'm going to be rewriting it from the beginning, in hopes to improve it greatly. It will be uploaded as a brand new book so feel free to check it out, please be aware it might differ slightly from this book as it is only taking inspiration from it Many thanks for all the reads this book has brought and with high hopes for the rewrite i bid you goodbye ----------------------------- Everything seemed to go silent as I heard them breaking through the door before anyone else, adrenaline pumped through my body as i jumped up and pulled out my machete. i ran over to help the group protect the others but realised that there was too many zombies to take on , my heart beating so fast, i turned around, grabbed Rose and went running over to the window. i looked down and saw the breath taking jump to the next building making me fear what was coming next and that was our only escape. i turned around, slicing a zombies head right off its neck , protecting Wen from getting bitten. As she swung her axe right over my head , hitting another zombie square in the head, sending a spray of blood all over the back of me. "We have to jump!" i screamed at everyone at the top of my lungs, i looked around to find at least 75% of our group either eaten or eating some one else. i knew i was being too slow in making my decisions, but all i could concentrate on was the sound of my heart beating in my chest. i pulled nicol to the floor and away from the zombie that nearly chewed off her head and watched her send a knife into its head with what seemed no effort at all. Then i turned and moved quicker than i have before to stop the zombie that i saw coming for me from the corner of my eye, i stopped dead in my tracks as my heart sank into the bloody stream of my circulation of life. I realised the zombie i was facing, was Rose...

However, I was a kid when I wrote this so take it with a grain of salt. *** Like a deer in head lights, I freeze and watch as the car comes towards me expecting to get hit. But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."

See, I use my 'gift' in my work as a homicide detective with NOLA's finest boys in blue. Now, I understand why you might call it cheating, and that's fine. Now just as my life is moving slower than a gator with a full belly, the worst happens. I get the call about a homicide that's hit too close to home. It leaves the girl of my dreams coming home to face tragedy. The moment I see her I find myself reminded of the one secret no one ever knew. Ever since I was eight years old I have felt many different things for Emma O'Neal, and those feelings haven't disappeared with time. Problem is now that she's come home; I find myself fighting not only an unknown assailant out for blood, my partner's misguided beliefs but my own need for the enticing beauty I'm duty sworn to protect.
