When the first ever boarding school across the Five Governments opens in Plaster City, every student in town wants in. Accepting nintey-three teenagers, all displaying "excellence" in certain fields, the Morales Institute of Higher Learning is considered the most elite and prestigious educational foundation in the entire country. With the best teachers money can buy, state-of-the-art technology, and approval from Prime Minister Emerson Morales himself, no one thought the school could bring any harm to its selected students. 
      As tensions rise throughout the country--riots wreck havoc in the west, enemy troops take more and more land in the south--the Institute, and its nintey-three students, goes completely unnoticed, for better or for worse.

The city's future depends upon the actions of a few individuals, all of whom are struggling with their own mortality. Quentin is the boy who dreams of death. Mia is the tortured soul. Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. Unbeknownst to them, the entire fate of Akropolis lies in their hands. Either humanity will find a way to survive or it will sink slowly into the sea of extinction.

Victore Academy boarding school is a lot of things. To the outside world, it's the heaven of schools. For some students, it's an experience they'll never forget. For others, it's the place to start their careers. And maybe for a few, it's the peak of their lives and really as good as it's going to get for them. And for me... well, I'll need a bit more than this to talk about that. But before you step in, here's a few things that everyone makes note of: 1. The students have secrets. And money. It's hard to tell what more of, honestly. 2. Don't get a room on the West Side of the girl's dorms. The birds around that private property lake house downside from campus don't stop chirping at 5AM. It's unpleasant, to say the least. 3. Avoid Mr. Labadee's classroom at all costs outside of lessons, especially past fifth period. It's better off if you're left in the dark with this one. 4. That asshole from Spain that terrorizes all the young freshmen is not hot. However, girls do make note of the fact that he works out post seventh period and right before first, near the track field. 5. The Victor's Tournament happens every year for all the senior year students. It's a pretty big deal. 6. And I think Armin Rivers is probably going to kill someone before he wins it (and it's probably gonna be that Spanish asshole). cover by soundthealarm

Although that day might have to come sooner than she'd like, everything starts to sink in as she decides to ignore her father and ask Vi what the countdown on the wall means. Casey doesn't really want to face the outside world, especially since her father seems so keen on staying until the end, but she also doesn't want to die in that building at the young age of twelve. All she finds herself doing is training, waiting, and hoping that something happens. So, when Rick Grimes and his group enter the CDC wanting help, it seems like her prayers were answered. Leaving the building and stepping into a walker-infested world after losing what's left of her family isn't the easiest thing to do, but she has a new group of people ready to help her. But still, something for the pain would always help, and the boy with the pretty eyes seems like a good enough distraction.
