Chapter Excerpt:

Nikolai pulled Emma aside, keeping his arm wrapped around her waist. The dress she wore accented her lithe, hour-glass figure and showed off her endowments. But, unfortunately, he had not pulled her aside to gawk at her. Plastering a smile on his face, he leaned in close, pressing his lips against her ear, whispering so only she would hear.

"I think congratulations are in order." His voice low, tickling her ear and sending goosebumps coursing over he entire body.

"What makes you say that?" Emma's teeth were clenched into a smile as oblivious guests passed by.

"Because, my dear, you are carrying my child." He answered, brushing his lips against her flushed cheek. Fear and resentment suddenly filled her. How did he find out?
