15 people wake up in what seems to be a high school and they can only remember common sense things and how to speak English. Their past selves and memories have been erased and stolen and no one can even remember their own name. Suddenly a bear named Monokuma appears and helps the students remember a little bit of information, but most are still left in confusion especially when Monokuma says the only way to escape is to kill each other.
