Jamie, self proclaimed sci-fi nerd, weirdo and new student at Smithview high school has never really fit it. Cliche, she knows. Not exactly skinny and super self conscious, Jamie knows that things at Smithview aren't going to be easy for her, especially since she is starting in the middle of the semester. So, as you can imagine, she's a little shocked when the schools resident "emo" Eric, warns her about the schools resident bad boy, who she likes to refer to as "Mountain Man." Eric, Jamie and Olivia (Eric's lesbian sidekick), soon become fast friends and Jamie couldn't imagine a better start at a new school. But, as always, life intervenes and the illusion is quickly shattered. The worst of the worst happens and Jamie is plunged into the cold, dark embrace of depression. As she struggles to come back from the tragedy, can she salvage the pieces of her life? Or will she give up and go under?
