Isha lives in a world where those lower than their leaders are seen only as assets.  They're born, they fight, they figure out how to live poorly sustained societies, and then they die.  Some have ancestors who genetically mutated; and group is milked until they are able to fight any longer.  Isha, unless she can cheat the system and hide her abilities, will be part of this group.
