Devon was finally twenty-four hours away from turning 21. She could recall bits and pieces of all the stories her mom told her when she was young. What it was like coming of age in her day. Shot after shot of alcohol and the worst hangovers the next morning, but that all changed when the plague hit. It was a biological killer no one had ever seen or even heard of. No one was living past 21. Their day would come and before they even got the chance to step out of bed, their heart stopped, and they were gone.
