Nineteen year old Elliotte Elizabeth James is definitely not your average teenage girl. She is, well, a fat girl. And in today's society that is two things: disgusting and unbearable. However with a sharp tongue and a witty and charming personality, she was both disliked by the popular skinny twigs that she could literally snap in half, but loved by the teachers because of her academics, and was loved as well by the popular guys because she was fun to argue with. She isn't necessarily popular, she is just well known. She only ever had two close friends in her life, Sophia and Emma. Emma moved away to Tennessee, but Sophia still lives in Tampa with Elliotte. Elliotte and Sophia both attend their local private Christian school, Hope Christian.
Elliotte's senior year gets thrown in a twist when the longtime English teachers, Mr. Williams dies from a drug overdose during the summer vacation. Yeah, shocker, I know. However, the teacher who replaces Mr.Williams is 23 year old Angelo Morgynson- a man with an extremely troubled past, a shell of the man he used to be. Every day he puts on a mask, a "sweet" and "gentle" smile that never reaches his eyes.
However, Mr. Morgynson isn't the only one who has a troubled past. Elliotte's playful and charming front is helping her hide her past- a past that only her parents know, who currently reside in heaven, and her two best friends.
