Lucy, a recently promoted Commander in the ranks of Magnolia's Sea police, sets sail on a mission to capture the rogue Pirate Ship "Fairy Tail." She and her small crew have tracked down the infamous treasure hunters, and planned to spring an attack. But before they can reach their destination, her ship is ambushed and Lucy is taken hostage! Though her imprisonment isn't what she expected, Lucy still remains wary of the pirates. It's not until our heroine really gets to know the Fairy Tail crew that she realizes the pirates may not be the real crooks here, and her entire world is turned upside down.

When we meet again

A week later after being taken in by the Dragneel family, on Natsu's thirteenth birthday, Lucy's sister Michelle comes to take Lucy home with her to Paris to live with her and her husband. Lucy stays in Paris, only keeping in touch with one friend during her four years there. On her sixteenth birthday, Lucy finally moves back to Magnolia. With Natsu heavy on her mind, she gets a job and begins attending the same high school as Natsu.
