Lucy, a recently promoted Commander in the ranks of Magnolia's Sea police, sets sail on a mission to capture the rogue Pirate Ship "Fairy Tail." She and her small crew have tracked down the infamous treasure hunters, and planned to spring an attack. But before they can reach their destination, her ship is ambushed and Lucy is taken hostage! Though her imprisonment isn't what she expected, Lucy still remains wary of the pirates. It's not until our heroine really gets to know the Fairy Tail crew that she realizes the pirates may not be the real crooks here, and her entire world is turned upside down.
