“Rebecca, no one is going to do you any good other than George. He’s rich! He’s got all the money anyone could ever dream of! You’ll get to experience things you’ve never experienced before and he’ll make you happy my dear” my father says as he wipes away a tear drop running down my cheek.
“But father, you don’t understand.” I cry as I remember what that arrogant man did to me last night. “I-I just don’t like George, and I don’t want to marry him.” My eyes burn even more at the thought of it.
He angrily narrows his eyes at me. “Are you saying you’d rather live your whole life in the streets as a poor girl chewing on your own skin? I don’t care if you like him or not. You’re going to marry George and that’s final! Do you understand?” my father snaps.
“Yes father.”
