Kacy Forrest and Devon Aberforth had been roommates, and best friends, for years, but she soon discovers he's been hiding a secret from her. A Super big secret that is. She accepts who he is, but that won't keep her out of trouble when the public gets wind that small time writer Kacy Forrest associates with the cities very own super-villain.

Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? And all you have to do is protect yourself and everyone you love from your ex best friend/sidekick --because let's face it that's the highest level of praise for a wretched traitor here--and you also have to get out of Super Holding somehow? This story is about two best friends who are devoting there life to this secret that they have to keep from there boyfriends. But little do they there not the only ones with a secret to hide... The avengers along with four more characters have to fight against conflicts that will come there way. At some point, the pros won't always be there to save the day when you need them.
