If there's anything Kiara Washington wants nothing to do with, it's her white peers at Chancely High School. But being seen as the "problem student" puts her in a negative light, causing her to reluctantly agree to take on an assignment that'll keep her out of trouble. She will be in charge of overseeing and befriending Christiano Marks, a new student from Philadelphia who takes an immediate liking to his new pal.

Despite her initial disdain towards the entire situation, Kiara feels drawn to Chris. His presence causes her to reflect on the past experiences that contribute to her present feelings. Eventually, the attraction becomes undeniable and must be explored. But just as she's truly beginning to let go, new problems arise. When her trauma begins to be used as a means for tokenism and experimentation, her relationship with Chris is put to the test.

Will Kiara and Chris be able to overcome these obstacles, or are the outside forces trying to tear the two young lovers apart just too powerful?

"Winston doesn't make people ignorant or racist, Simone... It's found in the people who choose to allow it into them. Nobody can choose their ethnicity, but we can choose what we make out of it, and who we are. Well... I've chosen you..." ********************** Simone Rich. Ryan Davids. Two teens. One is black. One is white. A school and student body filled with nothing but stereotypes, hormones, and unfair expectations. The want is there. The love is inevitable- but in the end, the only thing that can keep them from being together.... is themselves. (Please make sure to read A/N, before beginning the story.)
