A story about myself and a girl I know. The girl, well there's so much and yet almost nothing I could say about her. To start, we met when we were seventeen.
The peak of teenage woes.
Perhaps I was childish then, I thought I was suffering the most. No, I believed I was.
But Leah. She didn't have teenage woes. She had woes far beyond her years that I never understood why, or more importantly, how she got through them. But she did.
And this is my story to tell you. The story of a girl so strong. The story of myself who was so weak. Thinking I was strong but wasn't. Thinking I knew everything about an individual. Little did I know, I actually didn't.
All because I saw brown eyes.
I didn't see the grey in them.

Like a bolt of lightning, this stupid boy appeared in my life. First day of summer break between first and second grade, he just appeared- standing on my porch like he was born there. Straight brown hair, wide dark eyes and a fresh sunburn across his cheeks. He was already talking before I even opened the door. I don't know how it happened but it's been ten years. And he's still here. Talking, whether or not I'm listening. Laughing, even if no one else is. He's still too quick- racing around the world like he's scared he's going to miss it. He's gotten taller...much taller. His hair is a little longer, a little wavier, but under the light it still looks the same golden brown it did when we were nine. And now, finally, he was a high school graduate. We both were. It's time to move on
She picked up some item from the shelf and was about to turn away when I suddenly said "Don't buy that" I don't know why the hell I said that. I don't even know what she is picking. Scared that she might go away, I said the first words that came into my mind. She stopped suddenly and turned back to look at me. A look of shock held her face before it turned to that of confusion. Why the hell is she confused? My eyes involuntarily moved to the shelf from where she has picked the item and I was beyond shocked. Holy Shit. Lying on the top shelf of the counter were stock of tampons-different brands along with few other girly items and I realized I just told a girl not to buy tampons. F**k..
