There are a lot of last chances in life. Like the last piece of pie at thanksgiving or the last treadmill at the gym, maybe even the last notebook at the store that you don't really need but you don't want to leave just one. Those are the types of last chances that don't matter in life.
There happen to be last chances that may change your life forever like telling that boy from english that you like him or telling that girl from physics that you think she has the prettiest eyes you have ever seen. Maybe even being the girl who has been rejected countless times and you you're still there for the boy who doesn't deserve you.
Yes these are all high school problems but what do you expect out of a teen fiction book?

Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" She meets a guy--probably the most popular guy in school (and hey, why not make him British while we're at it?). He's most likely very handsome and just as rich, and magically seems to understand her. It feels like they've known each other forever when in fact they've actually just met.
