The world is the same as we know it now. humans walking, working, shopping. but some humans are born with abilities. all abilities are known only to stay until their body is done growing there is also the extremely rare event that had only been seen once where someone possessing abilities never goes away. they have it until they die. if they die. but the world to them is cruel. being captured and used as guinea pigs. experimented on and never being sane again.

 16 year-old Amara and her younger sister Julia live alone. their mother abandoned them and they never knew their father. Amara found out about her abilities long ago. stealer. she had the ability to use someone else's ability and use it however or whenever she wanted. she could hold as many abilities as she wanted. but being cautious about her abilities she pretended only to have one. 

so what happens when a group of abilities who work to protect other abilities find Amara? I can assure you it wont be sunflowers and rainbows
