Natalie Barbetti, known as "Tali" to her friends, is a 26-year-old up-and-coming painter who has just gotten a commission from multi-millionaire Ben Sorrelman. Tali finds herself forced to take him to her great-grandfather's estate in Tennessee, where the bridge that inspired the painting is located. Despite her insistence that the bridge was merely decorative, Ben seems strangely convinced that the bridge is special. And this bridge may be more important than Tali realizes, for it is a bridge that leads to another world. Tali, Ben, and Tali's cousin, Ethan, are swept away on an adventure, and as they travel in this new world, Tali must find a way to stop Ben from letting his greed ruin the world on the other side of the bridge.
