Being a top volleyball player at a young age wasn't all it was cracked up to be, especially for Anika.

It wasn't her love for the game or the joy of having won so many tournaments that kept her in play. In fact, she wasn't even sure if she had any love left for the game in her at all.

But she didn't have a choice. She had to keep playing, had to keep the ball from falling. She had to be the best all the time. Failure resulted in punishments, and punishments were always followed by suffering. What made it all a million times worse was the fact that the one person that mattered to her the most was also suffering.

That person was the reason why she couldn't give up.

Her life was a prison.

And there was no way out of it.
