Kelly is an overweight girl in her final year of high school. Her mother died four years ago, leaving her with her father and her step-mother, Candy, whose sole mission in life is to humiliate Kelly about her weight. Amanda is a quiet, malnourished girl in Kelly's graduating class. Her mother also died four year ago, and she was left with her father who sank into one perpetual drunken stupor the day he put his wife (Amanda's mother) in the ground and continues to spend all the money they have on his alcohol. Katelyn has been in and out of the foster system since her mother died when she was young. After her father gets put in jail again, she gets sent to live with the Thomas family. The Thomas's are a very well-off family with four boys. Their house is usually the main hangout for the boys and their friends. Kate hasn't ever lived with siblings before, let alone this many boys, so it's a big change for her. Daniel is your typical high school football player; he's got the looks, the muscles, talent, and even the overbearing dad who wants him to go pro. Daniel, however, really couldn't care less about a career in football, he loves the game, but it's his dad's dream for him to go pro, not his own. At least not anymore. He spends most of his free time away from his house and hanging out at either the Thomas or the Copperfield house. He can't wait to go off to college with his friends and get away from his dad and the stupid little town he grew up in. How will things change for them over the next year? This will be a series of 4, but the other books will be spin-offs and can be read as stand-alone books. They will, however, be published in chronological order. Full warning, this book is much shorter than I intend on making the spin-offs. I was planning on writing book two as the first in the series but found myself needing more of a prequel to all three other books, and so I chose to write something from their high school years. Bonus points for giving Daniel a love interest that was more than just a name.Complete
