"We've been over this, little girl," Blake started to get annoyed, his deep, rich voice turning into a taunting tone. "I made you. I turned you into a monster. You belong to me!"
"I'm... I'm not property--" She started to say. But Blake cut her off.
"But don't you see, Mai! You are! And as your sire, you belong to me and me alone!" His voice rose - he was shouting now. "You are mine!" '

Mai Reynolds was your average Asian-American teenager - attending high school, dealing with a single, non-English speaking mum, and just trying to fit in. She was never part of the 'popular' crowd. She got alright marks. She thought she  was pretty, but not beautiful. She was completely and utterly ordinary.

Until, one night. That night that changed everything. At a nightclub with her best (and only) friend, Max, she meets a guy. One that's about to turn her life upside down. Blake. Her vampire beloved.
