Calica and Hiccup grew up together. Hiccup had always had a crush on her but she thought too low of her self to see his feelings. When Calica was young, around age  14, she freed a dragon. A year later she freed the same one. On the day following the latest raid, Calica went for a rage walk through the woods of Berk and found a wounded dragon on the east side of the island. She was a Timberjack, the one Calica freed. Calica kept her new friend a secret from everyone, the guilt of betraying her village gnawing at her day and night. She had never hated dragons but pretended to accidentally loose them in raids before she could kill them. She would cut the things holding them with her ax. For that, everyone thought she was a screw up, except one boy who didn't quite share her feelings about dragons until he shot one down. When they get into dragon training, both oblivious to the other ones' dragon, they have no idea what to do. When they confide in each other, will they join forces, become the finalists in dragon training, and change the villages mind? Will Hiccup be able to change her point of view for herself? Will he muster enough courage to tell her his feelings? Will the village turn on them, causing them to take flight instead of fight?

Turns out Astrid Hofferson was abused and pressured by her own family. She have enough of it, Hiccup didn't really have yes as his first nor second choice but she beg him until he gave up and let her tag along. What would happen to them?, will this new path that choose was path to a bright future?,will something spark between them? (Obviously). What would the village have to say about this? Now, he's eighteen years old whose desperate to live his life. With so many people after him, his father forces Hiccup to stay on Berk until he finds a man whom he refuses to talk about. Hiccup begins to suffer from night terrors that make him want to stay along with battling his own mental condition. Things go south again when an unexpected traitor hands Hiccup over to the ones who want to destroy him mentally and physically. Meanwhile back at Berk, Stoick was furious rampaging through his house looking over numerous different maps. He was desperate to find his son. So desperate he would do anything to get him back. Little does he know, that not only the mysterious kidnapper is overly skilled, but also an old friend whom Stoick was best friends with for years.

Now, he is branded as a trator, a renegade. Stoick practically disowns him and he is never heard from again. five years later, Berk hears mighty tales of a grand hero who rides a night fury. Many call him 'Night Rider', 'Dragon Tamer', and 'Mysterious Rider'. Many doubted that this hero could be their traitorous ex heir to the Berkian leadership. After all, he was described as having a prosthetic leg, very tall, confident, and extremely buffed, while Hiccup was the opposite of all these descriptions.
