Other than the fact that she doesn't have parents, Christine is the most average person in the world, until one day she is recruited to go to a secret school for those who have the ability to control the elements. At this school, she meets friends, learns about her powers and how to use them, and more about herself. Everything is going great and Christine is happier than she's ever been, but then she and her friends wake up on a dangerous island with no supplies and no way to get back. While they're there, they discover the schools' slightly unethical ways, and must decide whether or not it's a good idea to try to go back in the first place.
