Corin Jaski was just doing her job: stealing for money to support herself. She didn't know how, but somehow, she got involved with the Avengers and their second battle against the Chitauri--this time protecting the Asgardian Loki, who the aliens seemed to be after.
Although the others hated him, Corin realized she and Loki had a similar past, and the two became rather close.
A bit too close for Tony's liking...
