A group of mutants led by Adam Kane known as Mutant X faces the deadliest enemies of their lives, the New Order, led by Nicholas Lareou, a sonic mutant. The two forces will clash with world shattering force. This work began as a fun, entertaining, and challenging Role Playing Game. It gathered together four accomplished fanfic writers: Sundra Kline, creator of Cat, the feline panther feral; Donna Griffin, creator of the Donna "GryphonLady" Gryphon, the multipsionic; Revolutiona1, creator of Riley (Revolution) Jackson, the telekinetic; and myself, VoxArcana, creator of Angela Fontenelle, the Avian feral hybrid. We met over the Mutant X Official Boards; all four of us were obsessed with the TV series Mutant X. We set out to have a little fun with the characters, and, thanks to the challenges we posed ourselves, to "outwrite" one another, to bring in crossover characters in an intelligent and pertinent way, We ended up writing a novel.
