Léa Marchant lost all hope of having a happy life after her parents and younger sister was brutally murdered in what looked like a theft turned bad. Hardly what Léa thinks happened.
Fast forward two years and Léa is living a somewhat normal life. After her family's death, she turned to numbers and logic as her savior, attending to the murder case that the detectives had dropped like a bad cold.
Sent off to live with distant relatives in Woodcreek, Maine, US of A, she becomes a high achiever and the child prodigy of the school.
Preferring to forget what happened the day that haunts her every waking moment Léa's life becomes a never-ending cycle of repetition. All seems well until hot city boy, Anthony Owens joins her year.
Ice meets fire with a bad first impression and a silent war begins between the two.
In the two months that follow Anthony's joining to the year 10 class of Woodcreek high, a body is found brutally mutilated from the waist down leaving the upper portions and face looking eerily familiar.
The past Léa hoped to forget is catching up with her.
Little does she know, she should be dead right now if it weren't for the mercy of a murderer.
But why?
That question can wait, now she has to run if she wants to live 'till her eighteenth birthday.
The killer is out to get her and all she has is her brains and a boy who seems to contradict her every word.
