Monsters are everywhere, but the human ones are the worst. At least the Creatures of the Night don't kid almost families, friends, neighbors, coworkers. Once reborn they live in the night. Sure, they do all of the same twisted things that humans do to one another, but they don't hide who they are. When you see them you know death is coming. I had never seen a monster before, I had this misconception about how it would be. I thought for sure it would be dripping fangs and sharpened claws so to speak. I thought it should at least be easy to tell, that something so evil, so black would leave a mark. Some indication of the stained soul beneath, that if all was fair you should at least be able to tell, feel the evil coming off them. Oh how very wrong this foolish notion was and how unfortunate for me that the very first monster I would ever see would be so horribly beautiful.
