James is a special kid. He's funny and sweet like most kids but he has a genius IQ and is a master martial artist at ten years old. He also remembers everything from the very moment he was born. He remembers being ripped away from his mother moments from his birth, he remembers the scientists digging through his brain and poking him with needles, He remembers the pain that went with all of those things. He also remembers the fatal diagnosis and being thrown out like he was trash. He remembers being rescued and held in a way he had never been held before. He remembers being loved for the first time by the super spy who had gone through all of those things too. Natasha Romanoff isn't his real mom but that's okay, she loves him and for James, that's all he's ever wanted. But when someone wants the experiment no one was supposed to know survived everything James and Natasha have built seems to be in Jeopardy. There are just some things that you can't be protected from.

Before Captain America/Steve Rogers went into the ice on April of 1945, Peggy and him met up in his hotel room and later accidentally slept with each other. Little did they know, they conceived a baby. Peggy gave birth to Jocelyn Carter without the father knowing he had a daughter or being there at all. Eight years later, Jocelyn was captured by Hydra and turned into an experiment. For years, Jocelyn has been kept by Hydra, being a victim of abuse and frozen in a cryostasis chamber like the Winter Soldier.
