Sparked from the AUTOBOT COMMANDER and a FIELD MEDIC, Smokescreen came from the final generation of Cybertronians. Separated from his creators, Smokescreen was determined to stand aside the Autobots and bring justice to the Decepticons no matter the cost. Training in Cybertron's elite guard, Smokey was appointed to guard Alpha Trion in the final days of the war.
  
  Following the tale Smokescreen tells upon how he arrived to earth, unknowingly reunited with his creators and family- the fact is known to Optimus and Ratchet, and himself. This story takes place at the end of season two.

With the war finally over, Ratchet and Optimus finally get to live their fantasy of having a family. Optimus didn't anticipate the target that would be put over Ratchet's head once he became sparked. A small band of Decepticons aren't satisfied with the way things played out. Seeking revenge and compensation, they take the sparked medic hostage, and the race begins. Optimus must juggle his Primely duties and searching for his medic while complying to the outrageous demands. His desperation is what leads him to Megatron.
