For One Last Night by isabelwc3
17 parts Complete
Told in alternating perspectives, best friends Paloma, Josie and George are spending their last night together before college doing the same things they have been doing for the last four years: getting ready at Josie's before meeting up with Josie's boyfriend and his friends to stay up all night hopping around different parties and houses in their neighborhood. Just another boring night. The thing is, it's the last one. Each girl wants their own version of a happy ending. Paloma, the only queer girl in her small town, just wants to spend her last night in town with her best friends before leaving to start her real life in New York. George wants to finally tell Gus, her friend and crush, how she feels about him. And Josie wants to find the words to tell Oliver, her long-term boyfriend, that she actually doesn't want to break up anymore. The girls make a pact to say and do everything they need to do before their time together ends, but over the course of the night, their plans get sidetracked by new, predatory guys, pretty girls, fights about the future, and realizations about how lucky they were to have each other, especially in the environment they grew up in - with its' rampant, casual toxic masculinity, rape culture and slut-shaming. Even though the night throws new challenges at them and pulls them apart, they always find their way back together. And they are all left with a question they have been scared to ask: who will we be without each other?

The trio quickly forms a close friendship, but beneath the surface, emotions begin to stir. Logan finds himself falling for Emma, drawn to her warmth and intelligence. He doesn't know that Noah harbors feelings for her too-feelings he's buried for years, afraid to jeopardize their friendship. Fast forward to graduation, and the three make plans to celebrate. But when Noah is pulled away to take over his father's company, Cullen Industries, Emma and Logan spend the evening together. A simple movie night becomes something more-a deep, meaningful conversation that makes Logan certain of his feelings. He decides he's going to confess. But before he gets the chance, Emma texts him days later with news that shatters his heart-she and Noah are now a couple. Logan is devastated. That same night was supposed to be his moment, but instead, he is left alone with his unspoken love. Unable to handle the pain, he distances himself, ghosting both Emma and Noah. Emma, confused and hurt by Logan's sudden withdrawal, reaches out. When he finally responds, it's with raw honesty-he confesses his feelings but also his anger, his hurt, and his sense of betrayal. Torn between love and loyalty, Emma must face the truth: was her heart always meant for Noah, or did she overlook something deeper with Logan?
