Ingrid was a blessing from the Gods, a gift for her mother Lagertha, a woman who never believed she could have anymore children. As a young child she grew up closely with the famous Ragnar Lothbrok sons, especially his youngest son Ivar. She was kind to him and she always remained at his side no matter what.
Now she's returned to Kattegat and has blossomed into a beautiful woman and a skilled shieldmaiden like her mother. She's returned to fulfil her fate. But what happens if the Gods already have her fate written for her?

What if the legend of the nameless gods were true? Can there exist on earth a love so boundless that it reflects that of two deities? Ragnar, father of Ivar and his brothers, leads his children to a devastated village near Kattegat. Among the rubble of what remains of a house, little Ivar, only three years old, finds a baby girl still wrapped in swaddling clothes. She is taken to Kattegat, where she will grow up with the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok. But what fate awaits Ivar and the baby? Two best friends, bound by deep feelings, find themselves torn apart by betrayal: he betrays her, and she flees, helped by someone very close to Ivar. After years of absence, she returns with a new identity, new alliances and...two twin sons (All characters are by the original creators, except Tyra and others I will introduce. Not everything will follow the "Vikings" series faithfully.) I was persuaded to write this story because there are so few complete stories about Ivar, and none of them are exactly how I would like to read them. Although many are wonderful. She did not wish to be another pawn to Ivar's plan but slowly the trauma and stories behind Ivar's past started to make sense to why he was the way he was. Even sharing her childhood stories with him, making there bond stronger. But he was playing a game of cat and mouse with her. Was everything he said true? Or was it all part of his sick game?
