Who You Truly Are Inside

"Courtney, stay away from me and stop annoying me!" I growled, grabbing Courtney's shoulders. The school hallways were empty.
Courtney nodded quickly and hurried away to the school exit. However, just as she was about to open the doors, she turned around, facing me.
"You know, Austin, you used to be so sweet and funny and..." Courtney's voice trailed off. "Well, now you're different. This isn't who you truly are."
"So what? I've grown! Did you expect me to cry tears of happiness when you came back? Did you expect me to mourn you until I died? No, of course not!" I snapped. "So grow up!"
Courtney's eyes widened and welled up with tears. Shaking her head sadly, she whispered, "Austin, what have you become?"
My ex-best friend opened the door and ran away, leaving me standing there, shocked and startled, with only one thought echoing in my mind.

Austin Parker and Courtney Carabelle were best friends when they were younger. They loved each other like siblings. However, one day when they were both 12, Courtney moved to London, leaving Austin and their friendship.
Now, 5 years later, Courtney moves back, delighted to see her best friend- and crush- Austin. However, he is not the kind, caring boy he was 5 years ago. Now, Austin's known as the school bad boy and player, and, for some reason, hates Courtney.
Sad and depressed, Courtney must find her way through Austin's heart to bring out who he truly is inside...
