COLD WATERS

Grayson Black had been dead for two years, despite the fact that it didn't always feel that way to October.

Sometimes she felt as though any second he would show up as she relaxed on the beach, him stepping out of the water, his abnormally platinum hair shining in the sun, waves crashing on the shore and chasing his ankles.

But who wouldn't dream of their best friend coming back to life after a cruel death? In the same month as Gray had died, only two years later, things begin to change. Her life gets harder as she struggles to even sleep at night through the nightmares of Gray. The Flesh eating bacteria in the water grew worse, putting more and more people in the hospital. The tropical storms grew more frequent. The voices in her head would always call her back to the beach, and she would eventually cave, and go lay in the sand.

But sometimes the waves would whisper for her to get in. The voice always terrifyingly familiar, and she always refused for fear she might die the same way Gray did. Little does she know that's exactly what Gray wants.
