Waterfalls ran down her chubby cheeks
as she struggled to keep her peace

In a bid to keep her sad moment to herself
and away from the people around her

it would break her mom
if she found out her daughter went through endless taunts
it would break her dad
if he discovered that his little baby hated school because her monsters resided within those school walls
and bullying her was a tradition of theirs
School was supposed to be for learning
it seemed the only thing she was learning
was how to act like their words didn't hurt
how to take it all in
and reserve the tears for moments of perfect solitude

but it seemed like every effort
resulted in more insults

There is something about the stories, and the Light House itself that attracts Abbie even before she finds out a secret, hiding in it. This is a story about Abbie's journey to self-discovery, to learn what love and care truly mean.
