On Novjaro, the giant sentient butterflies communicate by pairing and sharing memories. Some of the human colonists oppose this kind of interaction. Some have started a new town far from any of the butterfly cliff colonies. Then one day, Fletcher is out by the creek, avoiding the other children of the town when he sees something floating with the current. It's a log. And on it is a butterfly larva. Fletcher saves the larva only to discover things about himself, his father, and the butterfly society.

(STORY CONTAINS: STRONG LANGUAGE, VIOLENCE, BLOOD, SUGGESTIVE THEMES, ALCOHOL, VERY VERY DARK THEMES I'LL PUT MORE WARNINGS DON'T WORRY POOKIES) (I do not own Gravity Falls) Stanford and Y/N are old Backupsmore buddies, they did research together until Ford left without telling goodbye, leaving Y/N in the dark about his whereabouts. It's 2013 and you're finally retiring from your job as a biologist, and you decide to move into a small secluded town in Oregon called Gravity Falls; In hopes of resting your brain from countless years of intently studying living organisms. But what you encountered there was FAR beyond what you were hoping for. (Gender-neutral for everyone, post-weirdmageddon, re-entering my gravity falls phase LMAO, art is mine)
