The Invisible Man is a science fiction novella by H. G. Wells. Originally serialized in Pearson's Weekly in 1897, it was published as a novel the same year.
The Invisible Man of the title is Griffin, a scientist who has devoted himself to research into optics and invents a way to change a body's refractive index to that of air so that it neither absorbs nor reflects light and thus becomes invisible. He successfully carries out this procedure on himself, but fails in his attempt to reverse it.

The paths of others like himself cross, and in these trekkings, an awful truth of their universe is revealed. This is Exodus Nebula, a novella of about 55,000 words, or twenty-four chapters. The mannerism and syntax of the writing can be a bit... dense. You'll have to excuse me for that. This was never supposed to be a serious attempt at a completed story, yet here it is. At about halfway through, I decided I didn't like the mannerisms at all and that it would be better off as a story entirely rewritten. Instead, I kept up with it anyway and made amends nearer the end. It was a mistake now learnt. If you choose to read past, oh, chapter five, where the story begins to pick up momentum in my opinion, I hope you enjoy. I've included a lot of themes I find intriguing and attempted to make the world wholly open for the reader's interpretation--which was the intent of this project, more or less: a practice of worldbuilding. The Island of Doctor Moreau is an 1896 science fiction novel, by English author H. G. Wells. The text of the novel is the narration of Edward Prendick, a shipwrecked man rescued by a passing boat who is left on the island home of Doctor Moreau, who creates human-like hybrid beings from animals via vivisection. The novel deals with a number of philosophical themes, including pain and cruelty, moral responsibility, human identity, and human interference with nature. Wells described the novel as "an exercise in youthful blasphemy". The Island of Doctor Moreau is a classic of early science fiction and remains one of Wells's best-known books.
