Growing up alone, Levine Ackerman learned to survive the Underground hardship without any help from other people. He used his excellent combat skills and blade mastery to steal food and thrive to live. These skills of his caught the attention of the Survey Corps, leading them to recruit him.

Levine joined with no hesitation and other thoughts because of some reasons. To find his family, to get out of the god forsaken Underground and to find his purpose in living this world as Cadet Ackerman.
